Mercury Reduction
- Calgon Carbon is committed to helping plant owners and operators meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations in the most economical way possible.
- FLUEPAC combines high adsorption capacity for exceptional mercury removal rates and low carbon usage rates.
- Excel with capture rates over 90%
- Preserve Fly Ash
- Designed with better densities for mercury adsorbtion
- With five patents for FLUEPAC technology from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, Calgon Carbon is a proven innovator in the field of mercury removal.
Refinery / Industrial
- In addition to industrial potable water and water reuse, Calgon Carbon provides products, services, and equipment for a wide range of chemical and industrial processes.
- Within the gas industries – including natural gas and other high purity gases – refineries depend on our activated carbons to remove contamination. The liquefied natural gas industry uses our activated carbon products to remove mercury compounds that would otherwise corrode process equipment. Calgon Carbon’s activated carbons are also widely used in gasoline vapor recovery equipment.
- Calgon Carbon also provides activated carbon products and services that can effectively decolorize and purify certain chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid, and provide catalysis for reaction stages We pride ourselves in developing effective and innovative solutions for your industrial and commercial manufacturing processes.
Food & Beverage
- Even when the incoming process water is from a municipal drinking water source, the water may contain trace organics and residual tastes, odors, disinfection by-products, and free- and combined-chlorine that requires final treatment/removal. Depending on the quality of the incoming water, there are a variety of activated carbon products and solutions that improve water quality for the brewing/bottling industry.
- Activated Carbon and Ion Exchange systems can also used to remove color from malts for use in clear beers and other flavored malt beverages.
- Products that require carbonation typically utilize activated carbon treatment of gases to remove unwanted taste and odors.
Landfill Leachate
- Granular activated carbon (GAC) in combination with biological pretreatment is a leading technology for the treatment of landfill leachate.
- Granular activated carbons remove organic chemicals and reduces toxicity in water to allow safe discharge into groundwater. It is highly effective for odor removal and for the treatment of soluble organic chemicals, pesticides, endocrine disruptors and other contaminants of emerging concern.
